Fame.

I always wonder how a blog becomes well read and frequented on the internet.

So there's this site called Technorati, and they catalog and track all of our blogs. Since they started in 2002 they have cataloged 133 million blogs. This includes weblogs in 81 languages from any of 61 blogging countries.

You can find things like the Huffington Post, and it's simple to see how it's considered (by Technorati) to be the most "authoritative" blog in the blogosphere. It's where we as an internet dependent culture get our news. It's pervasive to the point where a good number of people know who Arianna Huffington is by name alone. According to Technorati, the top 13 authoritative blogs on the internet function as newspapers or magazines of sorts covering things from technology to celebrity gossip. These blogs have multiple authors updating many times over the course of the day. It's easy to see why these blogs are important in a world where print news is on the decline.

So that makes sense, but how is it that number 14 on the list has become so well read.

Seth Godin is almost 50. He is the only writer on the 14th most authoritative blog on the blogosphere; Seth's Blog. He is just one man writing about marketing.

So this guy is famous in some sense of the word, and I have to wonder, can I get that famous?

This has been the first entry of my blog.
